Candle Safety & Care
Create a candle memory and prevent tunnelling by allowing the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the glass the first time you light the candle. Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Trim wick before every use
It is normal for soy candle wicks to 'mushroom'. This is easily fixed by trimming your wick to 6mm. Trimming will ensure the candle does not burn hotter than it should and prolong the life of the candle. Trim the 'mushroom' (little ball on the end of the wick) to keep your candle burning gently. Be sure not to cut it too short or it will be engulfed in the wax.
Candles burn more effectively in still air. Do not expose your candle to draughts or winds. The could cause your candle to smoke and burn unevenly.
Candles are sensitive to temperature and light. Pure soy wax can yellow if exposed to bright light. This is normal and does not affect the burning of your candle. Ensure you store your candle in an upright position.
Putting candles out and safety
is always best to use a candle snuffer to safely put your candle out. This prevents wax splash. Always ensure your candle is extinguished before leaving the room.
Never leave a candle unattended. Keep lit candles in sight whilst burning and away from anything flammable. Never leave children or pets near an open flame.
Keeping your candles clean
If you get any black markings on the rim of your candle jar, simply wipe it away with a damp cloth. This may be a sign that your wick is too long.
